This is more of a curiosity question, as i don't feed my dog my cats food, other than a small amount of leftovers my dog gets, that my cat leaves in her bowl every now and then.

The main reason i have read discouraging giving dogs cat food, is the too high protein and fat in cat food. However, both their foods have the same % of protein and fat, with the cats food having 150 more calories per kilogram.

Are there any other reasons cat food is not good for dogs?

I imagine you are referring to commercial foods Feeding you dog cat food shouldn't be a problem.Its feeding cats dog food that is more likely to cause issues in fairly short order due to lack of taurine.

Cats need taurine from their diet as unlike dogs they unable to produce taurine themselves within their bodies. Also cats shouldn't have carbs in spite of most manufactures including them as they are obligate carnivores and unable to process anything but meat to gain nutrients .

Dogs being facultative carnivores can eat both meat and carbs( veg ) Both cats and dogs need fat for energy although cats will safely have  higher amounts of fat . With dogs higher amounts may cause pancreatitis for example

If you feed a raw diet the base guide is 80 muscle meat/10 bone/5 liver/5 other organ for both species  but with cats you do have to make sure you choose meat that is high in taurine and can up the fatty meat if you wish more than with dogs. Protein is no different in either species

I feed my cat and dog both the same raw food  and if I feed a premade which I don't always I add extra heart to make sure that taurine is covered

My personal opinion, there is nothing wrong to feed the cat food to a dog. Sometimes I see the dog owner will share anything or any food to their dog like fruits. But still moderation is the key, the dog stomach is not suitable to accept the veggie or fruits stuff.

My dogs help themselves to fruit directly from the bushes they grow on. They are fed raw & add their own fruit

So does one of mine. Took me a while to realise where the strawberries had gone. They were netted but it didn't stop her.

Mine has been stuffing herself on blackberries. She knows exactly what she is looking for and can scent ripe ones several feet away. We never encouraged her to do this she just did it herself. One of my previous goldens became very fond of bilberries when we lived in an area where they grow

When we lived in Italy our three dogs used to graze on the fallen figs.  They also loved persimons  And walnuts!

My friend’s old GSD used to sneak into the greenhouse to steal tomatoes, and my old Lab would follow me around my veg garden eating mangetout peas from my basket as fast as I could pick them! She also loved pears and broccoli.

As for cat food, she always tried to get to that even if the cat had previously digested it! Yuk!

My dog would pinch pea pods off the plant, and she always wants to share my banana and pomegranate.
Sweet corn and green beans are favourites of hers.

mine have had most of the hazelnuts off my large 20+ year established clump.
