It's fantastic that they may have found some better types of treatment but knowing what is causing the problem and possible prevention is so Important. So far it doesn't seem any real breakthrough have been made yet on that front

I am sure that they are working flat out to get to the 'cause' furriefriends. These things take time. But in the mean time, dogs now stand a chance of survival and that is to be applauded.

Of course it takes time ! anderson Moore's are doing most of the research on ar and I know money for the project was lacking which was a stumblinh block .there have been many ideas but so far No definitive cause or avoidance . The precautions for avoidance are more or less guesswork atm . For anyone who is interested in there is fb group on the subject and Anderson Moore have a good website
Fortunately it is still.rare and some dogs  have survived having spoken to one such owner .the last I heard was that they think it is not the same disease to the one of the greys in the 80 but similar and probably has a different origin. Only time will tell
