I know it’s relatively new. Anyone got any experience with it.  My dog had her first injection today.  Just hope it helps.

From what I've heard it appears so far to have less side effects than aquopel and atopica and has been used longer in Europe those I know who are using it have good response though . How long between injections cam vary from dog to dog the longer the better obviously not only for.tje dogs benefit but it's not cheap.i was quoted 149 pounds for a large dog.

It’s covered by my insurance thankfully.  I just hope it works.  My dog has a repaired Liver Shunt which makes me worry so much about any drugs she has to take. I have to do something though as she is licking her bum until it is red raw.

Allergies arnt easy especially if.they are environmental. Food I can deal.with as feeding raw it was easier to find out what if anything was causing an issue .I've have one on immunotherapy with success although we still need top up.treatmemts at times .the otjer was in low dose sterpids as needed  I  found working with a specialist was our way forward but nothing is perfect unfortunately.  Mine was covered by insurance but after a year or two the premiums became to high at 300 pounds a month so I now pay

Thanks for your input.  She only gets like this in the summer so hopefully she will only have to have one or two more injections this year.  That’s if it works.  The vet nurse at the practice has one of her dogs on it as has had excellent results.

I've heard good things about it.  In particular from one of my training clients, whose AMB was basically born with allergies to almost everything (environmental and food) - the poor girl was on big doses of steroids from 12 weeks old to keep it all under control.  Massive weight gain, her joints are likely compromised, etc etc.

She had her first cytopoint a few months ago and was off the steroids almost immediately and losing weight.  I met her a couple of months afterwards and she looked fab, still heavy but the weight was coming off.  But no signs of allergies otherwise.  I looked at it for Raine but it's way out of my budget.

But like most new things, the price will drop as it becomes more commonplace.

My dog had cytopoint at least 4mths ago and hasn't had another since yet, it took a couple of days to stop his scratching completely. He has food and environmental allergies, food easy to sort but not environmental.
My friend has a dog with the environmental allergies too and she used this first after apoquel didn't work and also found immediate relief for her dog and it lasted just shy of 6mths I think, so although its expensive it lasts a lot a longer than it claims. My insurance covered the cost.

sadly for my dog it hasn't helped his poor feet so we are now trying cyclavance (atopica) to see if this helps. He is biting/nibbling his legs a legs and paws and the odd scratching of his neck is returning so he may need more cytopoint which I won't hesitate to give. Apoquel made him ill.

My dog is 27kg and I think it cost me around £120 but absolutely well worth it, its a relief to see my dog not scratching every 5 minutes.
