Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / scenting male

Hi.
Does anyone know if a dog will still scent in the home after he has had the snip. The dog I am talking about has been living with 4 bitches but is going to a new home with one bitch who has not been spayed, he is 13 months old.
Thanks for any help.

I would think he still needs housetraining! None of the people I know with stud dogs that live in the home with them (and the bitches) have trouble with their dogs marking inside the house.

Thanks Jeangenie. He only scents when I have a bitch due in season and only the smallest amount, maybe a table spoon full. Also he only does it where the bitches sleep and not in the sitting room, so I don't think it is about house training more about my bitches.

We took Taz too a friends house (he was fixed) and their male was intack, he marked in their house. How embarrasing :(

My mother inlaws dog was over visiting (fixed maltesse/poodle) and he lifted his leg in my house. No bitch in heat at all. At least Junior and my other males never decided to mark too.

ttfn :)

I truley believe it depends on the dog and the cirumstances. No one can no if ur dog will mark in someone elses house. Junior intack male, Dozer and Taz both fixed have never lifted their leg in my house only outside, Junior has never lifted at dog class either.
ttfn :)

Thanks everyone for your help. It seems it may depend on the dog and not if he is fixed or intack. I will pass on this to the lady who wants my dog.
