Hi all - I have found a ringcraft class and had a quick lesson in correct cutting of feet from my sire's breeders but they live a little far away to keep going to whilst I get used to it - can anyone recommend any videos or books which show how to cut the feet, chest etc. - I have been recommended a video by Jackie Maris Bray for hand stripping but not for the cutting parts.

Perhaps another idea would be to go to some shows without your puppy, before he is old enough to be competing and speak to the Cocker exhibitors. Ask them if you can watch them doing any finishing off they might be doing. Maybe find someone more local to you that you can visit when they're trimming their dogs and get some expert advice and tuition.
Maybe the breed clubs can point you in the direction of somebody that would teach you. I know it's very daunting when you're new to a breed.
I added American Cockers to my Irish Setters years ago and I lost sleep worrying about trimming an American for the show ring but you soon pick up what you need to know. Good luck with your puppy.
