What sort of thing do people do for 'best trick' in companion dog shows?!

Taught our x/breed (some years ago) to sit in front, pointed fingers at him and said Bang and he would lie down and roll onto his side.

My boy likes walking with his front feet on my feet. A figure of 8 around your legs is easy to teach with a lure.
Check out one of the Dog Tricks or Heelwork to Music books, and see what you can adapt.

We just have a few little ones more than one big trick. We can do weaves through legs, spins, paw to hand, walk back and so on. Used to have one that could jump through a hoop I made with my arms, but will have to teach one of the youngsters that one. Always meaning to teach the play dead with 'bang' but never got round to it!

Thanks all!  We can do most of those, just wasn't sure if they were the sort of things that people do at the shows :)

I do the Bang - Play dead trick but  my dog falls down and rolls onto his back with all four legs in the air. I trained it with a clicker, started with a roll over and clicked at the point when all four legs were in the air and then back chained the rest of the trick. Another good trick is where the dog lies down and covers his eyes with his paws when you say "No peeping".
