A lot of us only post on here when we have questions or problems but I just thought I'd write a little post to say what a lovely mum our girl has been.
At 3 weeks old, we were in the garden discussing giving the pups their first real food that evening.
We raw feed our dogs and OH had left three sealed pouches of frozen meat by the back door to defrost.
Went inside to find that mum had taken a pouch and put it in the whelping pen for the pups! She obviously agreed that it was the right time.
Since then, if they have been playing in a pen in the garden, she will go to their whelping box and collect toys and drop them in the pen with the pups. Such a sweet girl.

Anyone else got any nice mum stories to share?

Aww she is sweet!

One of my girls consistently regurgitated her food for the pups once they reached 4-5 weeks old. She was the only one to do so in my experience, I had to keep her away from the puppies for good two hours after she has eaten her food, else she would quickly bring it all out and the puppies would eat it all immediately. The instinct was really strong with her!

I've never had the joy of having a litter, and to be honest have never felt competent to do so, but seeing how wonderfully your girl care for their pups must be one of the greatest sights on earth. I'm currently without any dogs for the first time in my life so felt an extra dose of aaaah when reading your posts. Lovely

We had the occasional bitch who'd do that too and yes, we had to keep her away for a while after eating or she'd have continued to look like 2 planks stuck together, for far longer

OP has a quite amazing mum!!

Oh how sweet. :-) Both my girls have been great mums, and Ellie who is sadly gone now was such a good grandma too, I went to bed the morning after Hetty had the puppies leaving husband in charge  and found he had let Ellie join the family, luckily Hetty is so gentle she didn't mind, and they pretty much reared the litter together. Ellie was my worst one for trying to regurgitate food too. People often say toy breeds aren't very maternal but I have not found this to be the case in my breed.
