I have done a search but can’t find an answer.
I have a boxer who is just coming up to a year old and on a walk last week his harness rubbed his armpits bald and sore; oops. It’s never done this before but I feel he needs a new one now. It was a true love one from amazon and I liked it as it didn’t have a strap across his chest but if this design is better I’m all for that.
He only wears them on longer or woodland walks so he doesn’t have the lead attached to his collar then for comfort. Obviously as he’s getting older walks will become longer and I want him to be comfortable in what he is wearing so we can go out on decent hikes when he has built up to that.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

They look soft but I fear he will trash them as he loves his mud and water. It’s not for everyday use either just for longer hikes.
It was dry on the walk that rubbed him so it wasn’t due to grit or anything between his legs and the harness as I know that can be a factor.

Have s look at the fleece lined perfect fit they are pretty popular .dog games sell them and are very helpful if u give them a ring . Another good one is Julius k9 with or without the front piece .

Perfect fit harnesses are great. Check them out, many trainers and behaviourists recommend them too
How does it work without the front piece? Or am I getting totally mixed up....

Another vote for perfect fit, they definitely live up to their name!,
Perfect Fit. If he fits it, go for the 40mm webbing - wider and more comfortable. They go in the washing machine at a low temperature fine.
A couple to look at there.
I think what happened is the chest strap was too far forward and as such his front legs rubbed on it. It won’t be happening again that’s for sure. He’s not bothered by it at all and they are healing fine. I just don’t want to start walking longer and have he same issue.
The julius ones look to sit further back rather than just behind the legs so that might also be an option.

Perfect fit has the front attachment but Julius has it as an option . On the Julius u are just using an attachment on the dogs back if u don't buy the extra front piece . I prefer the front and back attachment harnesses as then u have the extra control if necessary.it prevents the dog from towing u along if heel position hasn't been perfected or the dog sees something very Interesting.
