Hello there,

Just a quick question.
I have a mini schnauzer aged 21 weeks and he has been wormed every 4/5
weeks since I have had him.
Does he need to be this often or should I start cutting it down?
If so how often until what age etc..?
Am I best speaking to my vet or is it the same quantity/regularity for every dog?

Charlie, Lhasa Apso, is the same age - strong personalities coming through now or what? :)

We have been worming him every four weeks; we've been told to do this until he is six months old, and then to do it every three months from then on. I think i've been picking up that a lot of people do it twice a year though?? It was the vet that recommended this to it, so we're sticking to that unless we're told otherwise!

I do mine four times a year, if that helps! :)

I worm mine twice a year but if anyone elses dog gets an infestation around them then I'll give them additional treatments at the three month mark for prevention.
I've only had one problem with an English Springer Spaniel who I brought home ready infested :( I only realised when he puked up a wriggling heap of roundworms in the back of my car :( I didn't even know they could do that

I do mine every three months, so the same as christine. Every three months is on the advice of vet.

I worm older dog twice a year - but he doesn't eat things outside etc. Pup (who will be 10 months on Friday/Saturday - 29th!!) gets wormed every two/three months as she is a scavenger :)
