My bitch has had one previous litter, that time she mated on day 9, 11 and 13 and pups were born 63 days post first tie, this time we used a different stud, very well proven. She stood and flagged for him and the first tie was about 20/25 minutes long, this was on day 8, second tie again was about 20 minutes long on day 10. Second tie was yesterday so now I have that long wait to see if she’s caught, I know no signs will be shown for about 3 weeks or so but I hate this part of the waiting game. I shall be looking for gum colour change from 21 days post first tie, then she’s booked in for a scan on 28 days post second tie. Do dogs show signs quicker in second litter? Really hoping for some beautiful pups in 9 weeks

Generally find it harder to tell with a proven bitch, as you don't have the teats enlargement and change of colour to go on.

Mine are always pretty fit so I don't see any obvious physical signs until about 7 weeks.  Most recent litter was 7 pups and she hardly looked pregnant until last two weeks, even though scan told me she had minimum 4 pups.

Settle down!    I've never bothered with scans, maybe because I didn't have other things to be booked, but provided my bitches had at least one good mating, I was happy to assume there would be a litter in 9 weeks' time.   With mine, I'd see a slight thickening of the flanks by around week 4, and with mine, the vulva didn't go back to how it was, if there was a pregnancy.   I've never checked gums!!

As said, the only time you know for sure there's a viable litter there, is around week 7, when you see them moving around.  Even a scan can only confirm or not a pregnancy at the time of the scan.   Not that the bitch will carry to term.   Which is partly why I never bothered.

I agree with MamaBas, I too don't do scans.  From the people who use them that I've spoken to, they are not accurate for determining numbers - which is the only use I would have for them, to be able to know if there is still a pup in there because I know how many to expect.

Given that, I would rather just wait the time out until the last couple weeks when it becomes apparent whether she is pregnant or not.  I dislike the stress involved in going to the vets for a bitch, the possible disease risk of an unnecessary trip to the vets, and I disagree with the over-medicalisation of canine pregnancies which seems to be happening (coming over from the USA).
