Hello all I hope you can help, my girl is 58 days pregnant and has been losing mucus plug for a about 4 days no panting still eating ect , temp been 36.4 too 37.3 up and down for a few days now , mainly down but today her tummy looks too have dropped and she seems very wobbly and has fallen over on to her bum a few times this morning like she's drunk ? She obviously is not . Iv got her on the sofa and she's having a little sleep now and can feel baby's kicking and moving . She is very large so was thinking maybe she's just off balance but it seemed worrying that it happened today ? Thanks in advance.

Hello. I am concerned that this may be a veterinary emergency. if I were in your situation i would consult your vet. You've got both the bitch AND a litter of puppies to consider.

Did all go well?
Hello all,
She had her babies yesterday by c section 2 sadly passed but we have 4 amazing girls and all is going well so far fingers crossed the sick babies were at the start of the canal that's what was causing the falling ect , one baby that passed away had walrus syndrome that's what caused the issues the vet said , thanks for all your advice,

I had never heard of walrus syndrome - horrible. I'm glad your little bitch is alright and sorry you lost the two little ones but at least she has the others to keep her busy.
Thank goodness you acted promptly in getting help - it could have so much worse.
Sadly this is the reality of breeding dogs. You always have to bear in mind that you may have to face complete disaster.
I know it's not very nice at all . The vet said it was lucky she got there in time or she wouldn't have had any pups

Pleased to hear you update and sorry u lost some pups hoping mother and babies do well.
Doesn't this show what a risky activity breeding is for all.concerned and certainly something that shouldn't be taken lightly as I am sure u didn't .I hope u are able to find some lovely homes for them
I know there is so much risk with breeding. I have people already wanting them but won't give any garentees until there older and stronger. My dogs make brilliant puppies I get praise all the time about them but she will not have anymore as I had her spayed . This website is brilliant and the people on it . There is no where else where you can ask for help or information on issues . Thanks everyone
