Hi my Girl was mated 8 and 10 days ago and today she has done two pees and i have noticed blood in the urine and a couple of small clots of blood in the urine, she is not bleesing anymore from season just notice it in the urine. any ideas would be great have contact vet and am waiting for call back.

Are you certain this is in her urine and not coming from her vulva.   I had just one bitch who after being mated, twice, came back into a quite coloured discharge through her final week at which point I thought she's never 'taken'.   This was completely unlike any of my other bitches had done after being mated.   However, as she was otherwise fine, I left it and she had an uneventful pregnancy and 9 super puppies - probably the best litter we'd ever bred.

I think you should probably collect some of her urine and have your vet test it.

we have spoke to the vet and he advised to place her on antibiotics as a precaution just incase of infection, she seems absolutely fine in her self. There ia no bleeding except when she goes to toilet.

Good idea to have antibiotic cover, I suspect the blood is coming from the vulva and being washed out when she urinates, she should be fine, it's not unusual.

Most of my bitches have bled during, and after mating.  And continued until the end of a normal season.  Because it's always been that way I've never questioned it.  And I've never had a bitch mated that didn't conceive.  I think it's blood from her season.

Thanks for your reply, she does seem absolutely fine apart from the blood in her wee. Is it strange it's only in her wee and no longer dripping any other time.
