Topic Dog Boards / General / Why do they do it? Dogs in vehicles

The horror of being in the car park during the fire in Liverpool is unthinkable. Fortunately, no people were in the car park. Unfortunately, dogs were. Just imagine their terror. Time and again I see dogs left in cars or reluctantly being dragged round shops, markets, country fairs, etc. I repeat: Why do they do it? If you are going to be away from home for a long time, or visiting somewhere unsuitable for your dog, enlist a neighbour or friend to call in. If that is not possible, leave the dog at home. He might be bored but at least he will be safe. The ignorance and selfishness of some people never ceases to amaze me.

Now it makes sense there being dogs in vehicles, due to a horsey event at the venue.

Similarily there would be dogs in cars at the NEC during a dog show.

Presumably it would be impossible to know, at this stage, if any dogs did perish in the completely burned out cars. The ones the fire brigade managed to rescue were on the top storey apparently.

Personally I do not take my dogs anywhere they have to be left in the car for me to go anywhere.

I leave them at home yes a fire could happen at home God forbid everything crossed but generally they are safer and more relaxed the stuck in a car for hours while you do whatever.

I saw the article on the national news as well and shoke my head in disbelief
