Is anyone using cytopoint injections  for allergies .  Information on amounts, number of injections and results would be appreciated.

Amounts are  related to the size of your dog.freqency is expected to be monthly but some are going longer. Results seem variable if it works it's good if not .side affects are expected to be few but it's very new in the UK so the jury I s out on that although I gather it's being used with success in France. I was quoted £148 for.my 38kg dog but at the moment he is similar pretty well so holding off.u are able to use as needed .

I had read positive success stories from USA so couldn’t wait to try it when it was licences for UK.
I have a Westie who has skin problems and with her being diabetic steroids aren’t an option.
Cytopoint has defiantly taken away the urge to itch she isn’t sensitive to touch anymore and obviously must feel a lot better in herself. I know  It isn’t a cure for her skin issues but the relief from constant itching is worth it.

Thank you for you reply. How many  shots has she had and how long are they lasting please?

Also is the vet using 20ml or less?

She has had 3 shots now, she went 4 weeks between the first 2 and then 6weeks.
It’s now 3 weeks since her last shot and she’s still fine.
Not sure how much she has I am sure it’s the smallest dose. Doses are dependant on the weight of your dog my dogs weight is 9kgs.

Thanks again. Our setter has been on apoquel for a year and it doesn't seem to work anymore. So he has had his first shot of cytopoint. Instant relief so far 2 days in !

May I ask whether you had the 3rd shot because 6 weeks was suggested by vet and manufacturers  or was it because you noticed a need for it by the dog?  They say it can last eight weeks but I don't know. It is new to the vets in this country so they cannot talk from experience.  You really are a great help thank you.

My vet wanted to vaccinate every 4 weeks which I though was a little excessive like as you say it’s new to UK and manufactures say can last between 4-8 weeks so I thought maybe I would let Molly decide when to give the next shot, as soon as she started to become a little more sensitive when stroking her or grooming was how I determined when to give the next injection.

Apoquel stopped working on Molly as well after about 3 months so I stopped giving it her, also read some really awful reviews on Apoquel.
