I have a 18 month old male Staffy (Paddy).

I have had him since he was 12 months old and two months ago I had him neutered.

I am quite puzzled by the fact that he still squats down and wees like a bitch. Is this because he has not matured or is it because he doesnt know hes meant to cock his leg up? I know that staffs are quite late to mature so do you think that he will just grow out of it or do some males wee like this all their lives?

As far as I am aware he won't ever cock his leg now he's been neutered. My dally went back to stooping once he had been done, after cocking his leg up everything for 3 years.

My mal wees like this too! He cocks his leg sometimes, but always the wrong way :D

I wonder if mine will do that too... he still very young, but I have heard that females surrounded by males with cock their leg?! Any truth in that?

He doesnt spend much time with girls, so I dont think it would be because of that

Just before he was neutered (approx 16 months old) he started to cock his leg up the odd time, but since he has been neutered he never has, so I presume it is something due to the fact that he has been done. Never come across this before though!

My third bitch (Alpha in waiting) started cocking her leg after she had her first litter, and has continued to mark over where any of the others go, or over other dogs urine marks.

She would be the most dominant of mine if I let her!!!

I have 3 bitches that cock their legs and one of them even does handstands (don't think she likes her bum tickled by the grass!)

We're all conjuring up some images here! My Setter bitch squats with one leg in the air whilst the next door neighbours Setter bitch cocks her leg. My BUllmastiff bitch squats but also goes round scent marking on top of other dogs 'business'. I've just always assumed that Bullmastiffs must have a higher level of male hormone in them which makes them scent over other dogs.

So, each to their own I guess!
