Can anyone tell me a good quality food for a 4 1/2 old Australian shepherd NOT raw not to high a protein level and they should grow slowly.

If you are wanting a good quality kibble with no grain, you won't go far wrong with Millies Wolfheart. They have a nice selection and various choices of protein levels.

Apart from the fact that by 4.5 years (or months?) he should be fully grown, I can recommend any one of the Arden Grange range of dog food.   However not all dog food suits all dogs so best I can offer is you look for a brand that lists meat or fish as the first, main, ingredient and not one that's cereal-based.   Bulk in, bulk out.  Loads of it.

I think you've asked this on another forum?

I'm new to the forum as well as to the dog world. My boyfriend has recently presented me Chihuahua puppy. So I'm on the webs to choose the best food for my little girle and found this https://womentake.com/best-dog-food-for-bulldog/ . On a Chihuahua oriented forum I discovered a few great home made recipes, but only for older puppies. Also I've read it's okey to add some things like eggs, sardines and meat to boost the protein and fat

Alexalex if u are interested in feeding a homemade diet regardless of its raw or cooked it is important u do  research first especially as u have a new pup . There are.many raw feeding sites on FB which will advise u and some which will advise on cooked.i feed raw which is my preference and it is easy but u do need to understand what u are doing and not just add willy nilly as it sounds like u have found at the moment.. a bad home made diet can be worse than a good kibble especially for a pup
