Hi. I took my dog to his physio as I thought he pulled his mussel, turns out it's his pad on his back leg they look OK  and not to sore to touch put if you press them the pad will bleed slightly. Physio is worried it will turn into a corn as his pad is very soft and needs toughened up. She has told me to use surgical spirit and said that a greyhound man had told her years back about a tablet to give the dogs from a herbal shop but couldn't remember the name. He is a kennel dog walked on all types of surfaces and it has only been like this since Friday seen physio Sunday.  Any advice for creams or tablets to give him

Was this to prevent corns, or treat one once it's there?   My Whippet has one on one of the toes of a front (left) leg.   Right now, when she goes lame again, I get my vet to get his scalpel out and cut it back a bit which helps for a while.   The last time, he was talking about toe amputation  which clearly I don't want to have to put her through.    I watched Noel Fitz dig one out some years ago now, but this isn't something my vet has offered as an option.   I'm sure others will offer ways to toughen up those feet however.

That is what  I'm not sure of as she can not remember herself as it was a few years ago now, all she came remember was it was a 6 week course.
