hi,i will be having a hip replacement in a month or two and will not be allowed to bend down-i live alone but will have help-however i wont expect them to clean up my garden,so i need a long handled poo picker! the one my friend has is ideal-but priced at 35 quid,when i was hoping more a fiver!!!can i adapt something?any ideas?thanks!xxx

I have one that comes in two pieces - much easier to use, to me, than the one from Argos?    We used them out in Canada (Pooper Scoopers) as for some considerable time, such things weren't available in the UK.   In fact my 'doggie aunt', visiting us out there, bought one and took it home with her!!   And we bought our Canadian one back with us.   Sadly it rusted out so we had to search round for a replacement.

This is what we are currently using except ours has a rake on one side of the scooper and a straight solid edge on the other side.

Pets at home do a long handled double claw type one that opens and closes using spring loading.

Costs about a fiver :)
