So we've hit Day 60 and my husky hasn't had her litter which isn't a surprise they could still have a few days cozy inside of her but I'm on the edge of my seat
She's a petite girl for the breed and when we visited the vets last Wednesday for her herpes vaccination he said she was close to labour and she had a good milk supply
Thursday she started losing her plug it was a bit like egg whites and her lady bits have puffed up a little
She's started lactating and leaking a little when lays down bless her

So Saturday she wouldn't eat and was vomiting
Weeing constantly runny poos the whole shebang so I was on my guard
She's been restless all weekend pacing and she is panting on and off but has been sleeping pretty well and either lays on the floor next to my bed or next to the sofa she's like my shadow she won't leave me alone
She stopped her hunger strike and took her wormer yesterday and managed to keep it down but all of a sudden started taking an interest in food this morning and ate all of her breakfast she has been drinking as normal over the weekend
Same with walking she's not been fussed for days so I left her resting but all of a sudden she heard the leads come off of the hook this morning and she was up and moving for about five minutes while I got the lab ready and my coat on then just went and curled up in her whelping box
Her temperature has been fluctuating crazy amounts for about a week from A whelping temp to normal temp so that can't give me much help

Six puppies were seen on her ultrasound so quite a big litter for her first time
I'm thinking of taking her to the vets for a check over this afternoon but didn't want to stress her if I didn't have to and it's quite hard for her to get in the car and I think I'd struggle to lift her in on my own

I've been worried she has been in prelabour all weekend but she doesn't seem to be overly uncomfortable she's having the odd darting her head round at her tummy band won't stop licking herself but doesn't seem to be progressing

With a first timer I would be off to the vet too.  Can't do any harm, I would want to rule out inertia.  And seeing the vet will help put your mind at rest.  I wish you luck.

Went to the vet he said she's fine thank goodness

Spoke to the breeder we got her from and her mum was off for a few days before she whelped so fingers crossed she won't be long

Do you know when she actually ovulated?  I would only go to the vet if you hit day 65 from ovulation and still have no puppies.  If you didn't progesterone test, that won't be useful as you won't know exactly when ovulation was.

With her temperature, most bitches in their final weeks have temps around 100F, but fluctuate from 99.5F to 100.5F.  Temps will often be higher in the morning and drop as the day goes on, so try to take them at the same time of day.  You are looking for a LARGE temperature drop that persists at least 8hrs - this will then be 24-36hrs prior to whelping.  So - 2 consecutive readings with temps at 99F or lower.  (Some will go as low as 97F.)  Make sure you have a decent thermometer.

You want to see the first visible contractions within 36hrs of the start of her temperature drop - if not, go to the vet.
