My bitch was mated 18 days ago, she seems to be off her food?  yesterday i thought i'd get her some puppy food, she ate some of it yesterday but this morning she hasn't eaten anything.  anybody got any ideas?

Having seen what merlot has said on your other post I think a vet check wouldn't hurt to check for pyo sooner rather than later

Thank you.  I've just fed her wet food and she's eaten it.  I think she just has gone off the dry food.  I will take her to the vets to get her checked over though thank you.  It's my first time breeding and I've been reading that they should be more hungry in the early stages,  she has always been very clean even during her season,  i very rarely see anything.  But i appreciate all the comments, as i said this is my first time, so i'm learning as wellx

I have a bitch just now who is day 43 and been off her food since day 14!  She has had full bloods as well as a detailed scan done just to rule out other causes over and above pregnancy hormones.  Her mum done the same on her second litter and only found her appetite 3 -4 days post whelping.  I suppose it is like humans in that every person and every pregnancy is different.  The litter of 8 her mum produced were the heaviest pups I've ever had so my worry about the state the pups would come out was unnecessary.
