Just lately i have been wondering if the option of introducing a down vote button could be considered. I feel it might be useful to be able let posters know what people think about that what they are saying without getting into one of those " yes it is......no it isn't "
type of arguments.
I know it might go against the (hopefully) positive ethos behind the forum but I think it is an idea to consider.

If this were to be introduced here, I'd like to hope there could be an 'explanation' for TD given. It's too easy just to hit a TD button for no good reason, for some!!

Interesting suggestion, Garbo
Recently there have been occasions where I rather wished there was a 'down vote button' option! Sometimes it would feel useful to register a response while avoiding entering a full blown argument - especially when said argument goes round in circles.
However, I do acknowledge that it might not fit in with the intended ethos of the forum so on balance it may not be a good idea.
I suppose there is still the option to block particular posters? (Not quite the same thing but it might help the blood pressure!)

The difficulty for me about blocking people is that then you can't really respond properly because you miss part of the argument. Having dogs means that sometimes I find myself pushed for time so rather than get actively involved in debates, when i know i won't have time to reply all day, i end up just logging in and up voting people to show support for their ideas etc.
