Hi All
I've just got back from walking Charlie (Lhasa Apso, 20 weeks), and i was talking to another owner in the woods, who happened to mention that she gives her dog garlic tablets daily to boost his immune system. Charlie has been constantly under the vet since we got him, as mis-shaped ear canals have let to reoccuring ear infections, which have resulted in him having to have an anaesthetic once already in roder to pluck and flush his ears (lhasa's tend to have very hairy ears anyway, and his canals become blocked up with hair, which compounds the infection problem). I was wondering whether something like this may be benficial to Charlie?
I actually use quite a few herbal treaatments for myself, but had never really heard of them being used in dogs!! We do make sure that he gets a portion of oily fish three times a week, as we understand this can help with the joint problems that small dogs are susceptible to, but I'm now interested in taking the herbal thing further if it's beneficial!
Also, we're currently having trouble getting Charlie used to sleeping downstairs, and was wondering whether maybe there was something we could use maybe to relax him before bedtime? We've tried all the conventional and behavioural solutions that have been suggested to us, but after three weeks of sleepless nights, both us and Charlie are now starting to wear a bit thin!!
Would be grateful for any advice / ideas

I'm 100% sold on herbal and homoeopathy to treat ailments, see my posting on Frontline Spot On. Find a good homoeopath who will treat animals, they're worth their weight in gold.
