Our new little boy Roobarb is doing fantastically well. He is very different to Fonzi! Fonz has always been a bit of an epicure but Roo is more of a Labrador in his eating habits. I have been lucky with some unfortunate incidents - the other day he ate a whole raw duck neck in the time it took me to walk across the room to try to get it off him, like some sort of ninja sword swallower (it was my dogs dinner and he had hidden it to save it for last, his brother found it first!). I was mildly panicked as I couldn't imagine it could physically fit in his stomach but he seemed fine and went back to playing almost immediately. At 5am the next day he yakked up a little bile and four beautifully clean duck vertebrae.

He saw the senior vet yesterday along with the rest of the litter still remaining with the breeder and his mum who had come along to oversee it all. He had his second vaccination and the senior vet listened to his heart for ten minutes. The conclusion is that the murmur would not have been heard yesterday at all if he had not been listening specifically for it and that it is now intermittent and only audible in one particular spot which indicates it is extremely unlikely to be anything but an innocent flow murmur. He is to be rechecked at 6 months but is regarded currently as perfectly healthy.

I am having fun with training. He had learned sit and off in a few days and it took about a week for me to realise that he was just copying my older dog and not actually following my cue at all! I am taking more care to train them one at a time now. He is a smart little thing and keen on his food so I think will be fine to train. His jab was on Friday so I'll probably give it a week or ten days before i get him out. I dont really see the point in waiting the full fortnight given my older dog goes out and walks everywhere and plays with everyone every day and brings it all back on his coat and paws anyway. The dogs have become really close and love to play and snooze together. At the moment I'm really happy with the outcome of my somewhat impulsive decision. Long may it last!

Pleased for you.  So glad that they get on and I always think single dogs don't get as much fun.

No tatty my husband came up with both names! Both tie in with their kc names too but that is because our breeder is lovely.

So pleased everything is going so well with your new family member.  We will be collecting our new addition in just over two weeks time - can't wait!  Our breeder, like yours, has kindly agreed that our chosen name for pup will be tied into his KC Reg name, which is lovely.  Have fun (sounds like you already are!).
