Im looking for any suggestions for a show lead for a rottie with either a padded 'handle' or something soft touch that doesnt hurt if the dog pulls. We have tried thin rope, webbing and rolled leather but my partner finds them really uncomfortable on his hands. We use a half check collar so ideally something that goes with that. I am on the brink of telling him to wear gloves but it would look a bit odd! Thanks.
We have always used bridle quality leather flat leads for both walking and showing, walking one's are just thicker leather, bridle leathers is soft and supply I have leads over fifteen years old when they get wet over a door to dry naturally the pledge polish them. They are soft enough to fold the excess into your hand out of they way, at your next champ show look for a stall that makes the leads they sell and have a feel for softness and ask what quality leather they use leather does not burn when the dog pulls and yes we used the same quality of leads when we have German shepherds and when they died we used those on the corgi s for years before they needed replacing

Thanks corgilover. I will look into them.
I hope you find some but check the quality cheap leather is very stiff think cheap pet shop ones, but a quality lead is about £20 when the stitching rots or gives way take it to a cobbler and get it restitched good as new again, there is a stall doing the shows making their own leads you often see them working at the shows.
The only none leather I own are nylon baby puppy all in one leads for leader training and flexi s for walking butchers in season

I use leather leads with a rolled American collar. Have a look at the website essenjay. Most of my stuff is from them.
