Could there be danger to pups when a bitch is leaning against hot radiator? Talking about her nearly ready to give birth, 59-60 days, but also interested if this should be allowed at any stage of the pregnancy?

My girl is the only one here that really likes to do it, pressing her body against a scalding hot radiator and enjoying the warmth. If I move her and put a hand on the part of the body that was touching the radiator, its very hot! Since she's was mated just in case I've been denying her the pleasure, as its just worries me how hot she can get, so she had to make do with lying by the fire where there is a guard and they can't get too close. This morning however she sneaked in behind the sofa while I was cleaning the room and plastered herself over the d**n thing, literally wedged herself between the sofa and the radiator. She's been there only for couple of minutes when I noticed and moved her, so hopefully no harm was done. But it made me wonder is it really dangerous or perhaps not, for as long as the dog enjoys it? Did a quick search and couldn't find one answer or the other.

I can't help re her being pregnant but one of mine loves getting up close and personal with heat - thank goodness I have a fireguard as sometimes I think he'd actually sit in the fire!  He does this more so with this changeable weather - one minute sunny the next rain, snow and sleet.  Different breeds and coat types seem to prefer different temperatures and are more susceptible to changes.

Yes that's how she is too. Normally I let her decide when hot is too hot, but being pregnant I'm not sure she would know! Ive read about a cat blistering his ears when he fell asleep next to a space heater

can you not turn your radiator down slightly? that way she can still do it and you can relax knowing its not scalding her
