I have a tiny cross bred dog named Mattie. She, while I was at work, got left alone while in heat with my roommate's dog. This was due to my roommate trusting her diapers too much. I don't know exactly how far along she is. I have been checking her temp for a week now. And when I first started her temp held strong at 99.9f  for 3 days. Then dropped to 98.8f for a day and a half. Then went back up. It stayed that way till today and I checked it throughout the day today and it has mad it's way down to 97.4f. however, she has not had any symptoms I have really noticed but diarrhea and sleeping a lot. Some digging in my bed. Should I expect puppies tonight?

Have you taken your dog to the vet? If no do that, have a scan done, and determine with as much precision as possible the stage of the pregnancy and the size of the sculls.

I did and they wouldn't do a scan . I took her to 2 vets. They both said that it was in necessary. Pups were moving. And did not feel to large. They both estimated  3-4 pups. As well as, 2 weeks out from delivery. That was a week ago.

A story too often repeated unfortunately, as she is a cross of two breeds renowned for difficult whelpings and needing a c-section you will have to be watching her like a hawk and taking her to the vet if she does not progress with her labour, as you don't know her due date you will have to rely on her behaviour, digging, panting, refusing food, possibly vomiting and often a "far away" look in her eyes.  I do hope all goes well for your little bitch and you have a happy outcome.

First of all how far into her pregnancy is she.   Much as I've never taken much notice of temperature, the norm for a pregnant bitch is it fluctuates but eventually drops and STAYS DOWN at which point whelping should start within 48 hours.   I prefer to go by when the first mating too place.    If the male is significantly bigger than her, she may have a hard time producing these puppies, if she even carries to term.   I'd be having an x-ray done a few days before her due date, to see whether she is going to need a C.Section.  Scans won't tell you that, necessarily.   If you knew this happened, why didn't you take her in for a gravid spay.    Diapers DO NOT prevent any mating - she is just as likely to rip them off as him!!

Obviously I hope all goes to plan for the sake of your bitch but PLEASE, when this is all over, get her spayed, midway between the last season and the next.

No puppies yet. Still no panting or contractions but her temp is still down. And now acting normal. Still won't eat. Due date is march 2 estimated by heat cycle. Don't know when she mated. I plan on getting her spayed.

When you say due date is 2nd March please remember with your breed that gestation period of 56 days is perfectly normal.  Knowing that, I would be concerned.  Would you recognise inertia?  Because if your girl does suffer from inertia (lots of very small breeds do) then this is very serious.  You could lose her - I do mean very serious.  How experienced are you in whelping bitches?  If she needs an out of hours section it will cost £1,000 so I'm hoping that you are ready for anything that happens.  The problem with inertia is that, very often, you can't wait for opening hours, as there isn't time.  Do you have a mentor?

Kind of have a mentor. My neighbor is a breeder. I was not trying to be. She said she will come over when she is in labor.
