Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Cost of CHV vaccine?

Am I going to the wrong vet? I have been charged £92 for the 1st one today and the 2nd will be £56 if I need it.....

I queried it last time and the vet said to leave it with him. I brought it up twice after that but he didn't ask for any more money. Rang for it this time round and the cost was the same??? Different vet today as usual vet is away until tomorrow.

Cost of two doses online £ 65.70 so you would need to add consultation and prescription charge so on balance sounds a bit excessive

How much! Hope they use a gold needle.
Last season my vet charged £36.something for the first one. Second would be the same but we didn't need it sadly.

I paid approximately £48 each for the 2 vaccinations in June/August 2016

Can anyone tell me which vaccine was used (is there more than one manufacturer?)?

I need to be fully armed when I speak with my vet.

If I was you I would ring around the practices within traveling distance and get quotes for it. You can be registered with more than one vet.

I am registered with another 2 vets but I have a preference for a particular chap - he was the one who queried the cost the 1st time round for me. I shall ask to speak to him again however, I will be calling around to get a better price :)
