Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Using Coat King on a Cavalier

I have a Cavalier who was ruined by a handler using thinning shears on her neck and shoulders.(She won but at what expense!?!) I have thinned, towelled flat, used hair straightening products, etc but the hair sticks up! This is NOT dead hair. It is silky unruly hair. Do you have feedback like with your Cocker section of Cavalier owners who have used Coat King? I want her to look better but am terrified it will look stripped.

Thanks,

Robyn (Canada)

In The UK we are not allowed to trim/thin any of the coat on the cavalier however you can get a drying coat that you put on after bathing & drying that are supposed to keep the coat flat as per the breed standard I don't use them nor have I ever used a coat king

Here is the drying coat webpage. http://www.tradetraffic.co.uk/drydogcoats/HOME.HTM
I believe that the lady has Cavaliers herself.
