Hi, our bitch is having her first litter.  We have never bred before either.  Over the last 5-6 days she has had both sickness and diarrhea, this is day and night, sometimes having to go out within 20 mins of the last episode.  We had an ultrasound when this began on Thursday last week and all seemed well, 4 puppies inside.  Just interested in what should we be feeding her in this situation?  Anybody know of this and can advise?  Thanks Suzie

How many days into her pregnancy is she and what has your vet advised?

She mated on the 7th September 2016, therefore we think this is day 48.  Is that correct or should we be including ovulation timing?

The vet examined her 5 days ago when the vomiting started and we also had an ultrasound.  He said all pups were good, and that she had most likely picked up a gastro bug as there was lots of it around.  He gave her something to stop the sickness and something to prevent de-hydration.

I think if she is still not well after the treatment and 5 days later, you should pop her back to the vets.
