Our nearly 2 year old dog 'Jedi' tends to make snapping noises when playing, he doesn't bite but obviously this worries me. Particularly when visitors come into the house. He also has a tendency to stalk other dogs when out walking, he isn't overly aggressive but if threatened holds his own.
Be pleased to hear if anyone has similar experiences - tips etc.

we have an airedale too, he is 4 and makes exactly the same snapping noises, sounds like a great big crocodile!, he is as soft as anything though, as long as your dog is ok with the family and doesnt actually bite, the stalking other dogs, prob thats just dog/terrier behaviour. Just wants to play with them!

Many thanks for that info - Nice to know he's not a freak - he's absolutely fine behaviour wise, mouths me while playing, but has never bitten - He's still a little, shall we say excitable!!!!
Fantastic pet and wonderful companion - our pride and joy. We are thinking of getting a little friend for him soon - had quite a lot of advice on which breed and consensus of opinion tending for us to lean towards a Border Terrier. What do you think?

hi
Dont blame you, our ralph is our pride and joy too! spoilt rotten. I think a border terrier would be ok, are you getting a female?, we are in the process of finding another dog, we did look at a smaller rescue terrier but she wasnt exactly what the owner said! (very snappy etc)
we have gone to the other extreme and are looking for a giant schnauzer (mad!).
Think it would be better if you got a female border terrier, less fighting i think. is your dog very obedient? ours has a mind of his own
he will totally ignore you if there is something more interesting while out for walk, i think that is a trait of the airedale (selective deafness!)
other than that he is brillaint, couldnt imagine life without him, as i'm sure you'll agree!.
Let me know how you get on.
