Hi everybody! I'm wondering if it's at all possible to get insurance to cover ceasereans for bostons, any ideas? From what I can tell its a no, looking like have to have the money put aside. Could anyone tell me what's the best insurance company otherwise? Thanks in advance.

Agria do a breeding risks cover but they will not cover Boston's for c sections I'm afraid. I cant imagine any insurance who do breeder ones would want to cover breeds who may be more likely to need one. As well as your breed they wont do them for bulldogs, Pekingese and French bulldog and wont cover any dog who has already had 2 or more c sections before.

Also if your considering general insurance and plan to breed, before you take out any police make sure you check in the small print the exclusions as a lot of them will not insure breeding dogs or dogs used for breeding, so if you got a police from one like this as soon as you bred your dog your policy is void.
'More than' insurance don't insure dogs used for commercial breeding and when I called to ask about it I was told they don't consider having the one litter commercial, more than two litters they do. So I swapped to them as I was with animal friends who don't do breeding dogs at all and I was planning a litter.

The kennel club did and not sure if they still do a breeding cover policy.  it wasn't cheap when I looked at it last year but couldn't say if they covered your breed or not.

I'm with NFU and they cover breeding. Not sure if your breed is covered though for sections. You have to have your household insurance with them to insure dogs but they are very reasonably priced although the top amount they cover for is "only" £4000 per year...

I use NFU but don't have house insurance with them.

My insurance is up for renewal and I cannot find any company that does not say that using dogs "for breeding or commercial/monetary gain" invalidated the whole of the insurance policy, please read your policy and tell me if you can find one!!
