Hi guys, my mother has a 5 almost 6 year old shih Tzu which has always been fed Royal canin never human food and never gets bones. For the past few weeks she's noticed the majority of her poo is white. Nothing has changed in the house or her diet etc. She is also a lot quieter than normal, but lost her other dog at Xmas so she just put that down to depression. Is white poo normal or could it be a sign of anything?

Dog faeces which is more white in colour can be a sign of high bone intake.
I thought that but she never gets bones ever

Which is odd in a dog fed commercial food. Has she been given any bone in any form at all

Maybe a vet check and perhaps a change of food if nothing found
No she's never been fed any bones (my mams dog as a child choked and died with a bone so she's religious to make sure the dog only gets he Royal canin not even human food)

Think i would go for the vet check incase there is an underlying health problem .at least then you can be reassures and also take a stool sample with u

could a neighbour be throwing bones over fence, or she finding them on walks
This is not normal, I would suggest a vet visit as soon as possible, if nothing in her life has changed then it must be something in her that has altered, hopefully it will be a simple fix.
