My friend has 6 lab puppies 3 days old whos mum is still at vets as she needs op.  Hand fed at moment but desperately need a surrogate.. anyone in the area?

Would the vet know of another recently whelped bitch who might be able to take these puppies too?   Pity there's nothing like the often seen (well it used to be) appeal for a surrogate mare, on the racing programmes!
