Anyone have any ideas why my bitch could be experiencing sickness this early? Her first mate was 10 days ago and this has been happening since Friday, so 8 days from first mating. She's being sick a couple of times a day and off her food, but is still eating when she fancies it. Stools are completely normal, and she's still happy to play etc. Thanks.

When mine are sick in pregnancy it is later.  .. About 3 to 4 weeks.

Mine are often a bit sicky  DURING their season so could well be normal in season hormones making her feel horrid.

Thanks for your response.

She's a maiden bitch so as you say I'm unsure whether it's just hormone related for her. I've only ever experienced minimal morning sickness with my other bitches around the usual 3 week mark.

She's not sick immediately after eating or drinking, and is managing to keep down food and water so I'll think I'll just monitor the situation.

Hopefully her hormones are making her feel a bit odd, I have found that on the 2 occasions that a bitch has not been pregnant they showed all the signs but earlier than usual so fingers crossed that your bitch is safely in whelp.  If she is fine in every other way then she should soon get over it.

I have to say, we have got this when they are having a phantom ( or things did not work out for a pregnancy to continue, would not know which but at scan time they have had nothing there) it comes too early on compared to successful pregnancy.
fingers crossed it is just a slight tummy upset opposed to linked to mating/pregnancy.

Thanks for your responses.

We've had no sickness the last 2 days, however she is still being very fussy food wise and normally she's the greediest girl going!

I was concernced about possible Pyo (although very early I know) or something else I may have been overlooking, however she's showing no signs of illness or any discharge. Always a mine field when they throw up (literally!) something you've not experienced before!
