My vet says they cannot get the vaccine until October?! Is there only one supplier?
I really would rather give this than risk not.
And if anyone can recommend a vet in the south east (Sussex/Surrey) that may have it in stock then please let me know!

None in Somerset! I believe it's true :( We were booked into to have one today and was told to ring to double check, did and they can't get any.
This seems to happen every summer for some reason...
I have been told by a friend that she got the only one left in the UK last week, and that they tried phoning vets in Belgium ( where its made) and you cant get it there either

Has anyone tried the Homeopathic version, as far as I know there is no shortage of it.
I was thinking of giving it a go when I next breed a litter, especially as there would be no need to take a very heavily pregnant girl to the vets surgery for the second jab.

What's the Homeopathic version? Not herd of it before!

contact someone like ainsworths or helios homeopathic pharmacy they will be able to give advice. alternatively one of the homeopathic vets . eg chris day or nick Thompson although there a number of others. I have forgotten the guy in Somerset area jeff ?

Lady on Facebook runs a pet store "Abnoba Pet Store" product is Phytopet Herpes Combination 30c (Homeopathic Nosodes)
I haven't tried it yet but plan to, if the vaccine is unavailable it's got to be worth a go?
Can't believe it's only £5.09 plus p/p, massive difference to the best part of a £100 for the two vaccines!

It's very different to a conventional vaccine but obviously if u can't get or don't want conventional vaccines nosodes are an alternative. It might be worth joining canine helth Conern as well to understand more about them.unless of course u are familiar with using homeopathy

I'm not a 'believer' so won't try the homeopathic route. I hope it works for those that do though.

Homeopathic vet in Somerset is Geoff Johnson

I wouldn't risk this either -I've tried homeopathic remedies quite a few times for various things with dogs/cats, but it's never worked. I was planning (very unusually for me) to have a second litter this year but as the bitch is due in season in September, I decided to postpone it until the season after when the CHV vaccine should be back in stock. Better safe than sorry.
