Hi my bitch has 4/5days to go befor puppy's should be deliverd she is nesting and has clear mucus coming from her Virginia she is Huge at this point! She is only a small terrier, her belly has dropped' she seems perfectly fine a little restless but other then that she's perfectly normal is this clear mucus discharge a good or bad sign it's her first litter

Perfectly normal, as long as the discharge doesn't change to red/brown or start smelling she should have her puppies soon, maybe earlier than you might be expecting so get everything ready for the big event.

Agree with mixedpack - cancel all appointments, make your vet aware once she starts and keep an eye lon her every time you let her out to eliminate as many 1st time mothers (and seasoned ones) confuse contractions with needing to go to the loo. Keep a towel handy when she goes out and go with her :) good luck.

I had a reply posted by the OP as a notification but then told it was deleted....wonder how she got on.
Goodluck. Hope everything will turn out fine.
Hi everyone just looking for some advice my girl has only a few days befor birth of her pups' she is nesting'heavy panting,a little like she's shivering her temp has been at 36.0c just taken her temp again its at 36.4c now she has gone off all foods I'm offering her she's only drinking a little thers no pushing she's just stretched right out on her side and very clingy with me she has a virginal discharge its not stringy in anyway. Does anyone know if she's going 2 go into labour soon? Iv called the vets they have said to keep a close eye on her she went in yesterday and got checked by the vets ther is 4 healthy pups 'I'm just worried as she's been like this for about a hour now I apriciate anyones advice
She's very close. What colour is the discharge?
It was a clear discharge now its turn slighly brownish not dark thou
If it turns dark greeny black tell your vet. If not stay with her tonight.... She sounds close
Its just a light brown'also is her tempauture normal for a dog at this stage? Iv read loads about it but its a little confusing!. She's up going 2 the loo then straight back in her welping box
Yes that temp is normal when they are very close although can drop low and bounce back up for a few days before birth but going by your description of shivering and not eating I think she is well on the way. I don't bother taking temps any more but when I used to I found that once they dropped to 36 they whelped within 6 hours

Thankyou for your help it is really apreiciated

I imagine you have your pups by now or at least are in the middle of her whelping.
