Ok guys my bitch is is possibly pregnant she will be four weeks tomorrow, scanning Monday , anyway she's been healthy, bloods done etc only ever been vets for immunisations.
Day 24 she went off food my stud owner said to try to push something appetising so I have given her cooked chicken and sardines , she's ate a bit of Apple, then yesterday she started head tremors ( answers name happy to walk even chased a butterfly ) stud owner said to give her glucose , yoghurt etc which I have but she's still occasionally having them. ( she's been off food since Thursday!)
I am Awaiting a call from vet , but what I wanted to know
1: is this cos she's being fussy with food
2: is this likely to effect pregnancy
3: what would you do , ( I am scared and considering ending pregnancy if she is pregnant)
4: is this now her life
5 : how can I get her to eat ( I literally sat putting tinned( yuk) meat into her today
This is not my first time breeding, although my first time with her breed flat faced type !
Pls help

Wouldn't worry too much about the food thing, but the head tremors would scare me witless.
They are me , hence everything , the vets just said lets do bloods but it's probably low sugar it's promeniant in the breed ( although until now
Has been very healthy) I just can't think straight my immediate thought is stop and make my baby well ,

Can u video these tremors and I would be taking her too the vet it's not the kind of.thing that should.be done over the phone
He is gonna see her tomorrow ,at the same time as doing her bloods first thing , I can try to video it if she happens again, if I rub the glucose in her gum it seems to stop her. It looks similar to Parkinson's if I call her she gets up looks at me.

that's good, does sound a bit like low blood sugar from what you say . I think videos are always useful for these things
Kinda hoping I won't have the opportunity to video it., but if it happens again I will,
So technically if I can get her to eat and it is blood sugars it will stop, now to Get the bugger to eat

I would try anything to tempt her

Head tremors|
He is gonna see her tomorrow ,at the same time as doing her bloods first thing , I can try to video it if she happens again, if I rub the glucose in her gum it seems to stop her.It sounds like it might be 'idiopathic head tremor', if it is then the dog has no probs.
It affects owners who have not got used to it badly, it is quite frightening to see if your not used to it. Some years ago I actually saw an episode in a Dobe which had it, it just started for no apparent/known reason but just died out, the dog showed no signs of being aware it had happened though it seemed to have some awarness of it happening, anyway heres a youtube page full of vid links, check them to see if they resemble yours, but, from what little I know of it it causes no probs to the dog.

Hi I managed to video it and that's exactly what the vet said , she did bloods but told me to keep trying food yesterday she ate a lot more including a banana smoothie made using vanilla yoghurt honey glucose powder and cross fingers she hasn't had one since this morning she has had sausages for breakfast .
Vets only gonna ring me about the bloods if he needs to so no news is good news,
Thank you for ur reply

Maj Maj Evill says: Day 24 going off food is pretty common as they often have morning sickness at this stage so I would be surprised if it was linked to the tremors unless they are brought on by low blood sugar of course.

Please that it should be easily resolved and not something more sinister

Hey just wanted to let you know since our girl has started eating a bit ( not huge amounts and she is being still particularly fussy ( this morning has only ate biscuits not massive amounts) she's had NO tremors ( thank god ) since weds morning her blood sugars were very low she has to go back to the vets Monday to check her bloods again, she has also been scanned and has at least 6 pups now I just gotta convince her she loves food lol she was 4 weeks Wednesday my mentor said she should pick up with in a week all being well.
