Topic Dog Boards / Health / Fly spray for dogs?

It has been a wet week in the Bonnie west of Scotland and the midgies are out in force.

My boy has several bites around his ahem, gentleman's appendage, and is making the whole area a bit red with licking. I'm fairly sure they're midgie bites as he and I were in the garden together and I'm bitten too. He was worm/flea/tick treated at the vet a week ago and I noticed his tummy this morning when mine from yesterday evening were also itching.

I've just cut all the grass very short again as it was rather long and maybe resting midgies were swept off onto his underneath (it's mostly my legs that were bitten). Is there a fly spray for dogs? Or is there a horse one that's safe? Or, I personally use Avon skin so soft moisturiser as its the best thing for midgies, BUT I don't lick my bites so I'm not sure if it'd be safe for dogs...?

rabbit fly spray? rabbits groom themselves so thats designed to not poison if licked.  I get one called rear guard for my rabbits although have never used it on dog.
