Previously I have used a heavy duty pen in the sitting room but my last litter was intended to be my final one so I used the panels outside to block off the play areas etc.  Having been outside for an age, I shan't use them again and need to get a new whelping box/pen. I have been looking at the Warwick ones but they're a price and a half and wondered if anyone could recommend a cleanable whelping box that I could buy?

I have two whelping boxes from Steelcity. They are great, easy to assemble and keep clean. Still like new after 10 litters.

I also have two from Steelcity...can't recommend them enough.

An easy option is to use the lighter weight puppy panels like the Croft ones, and clip them together with one on top to keep it rigid and stand over a larger piece of vinyl (cheap to get an offcut). 

Then use cardboard around the sides (use cable ties through the mesh to attach.and a blanket over the top to make a den.

I do this except I have a plastic 3 foot square base my panels sit in that I bought over 20 years ago, from a company no longer trading.  I did the above when I had two litters once and a friend did the same.

I have had my Croft lightweight panels for 25 years.  I could not live without them!  I had them sent from England back then, and I have never regretted it.  Don't use them as whelping boxes though.

Aahhh!  yes, this is what I did before and extended the pen as the puppies became more active.  As this litter is due early July, and as I've had a patio laid, I just want to have a whelping box of some description in the kitchen and at about 5 weeks encourge them to use the patio to play in.  I used all my previous panels to fence it off so that they will be safe which is why I'm looking for ideas for a whelping bed.  Thanks everyone...I really appreciate the responses. xxx

Just ordered a whelping cube from Steel City...they're very similar to the Warwick ones aren't they?  The good thing is, although the outlay is quite high, it will store for future use so not too bad.
