my 11 month old Irish Setter has been coughing for the last two days. It is as if she is trying to clear her throat. Apart from this she is healthy. Could it be worms?

It could be Kennel cough or any number of things. Don't take your dog out, isolate her from others if you can and take her to the vet. Tell them you have a coughing dog and see if you can take her in at the end of surgery or via another entrance to minimise cross-infection. Hope she is ok.
