A Dogalter is a make of headcollar or halter, similar to Halti and Gentle Leader.

The man you are talking about is George Grayson and his website is www.kumfi.com. Both our GSDs wear dogalters. We had Halti's before but they didn't seem to fit as well as the dogalter, also it has a type of padded felt inside so doesn't rub. Hope this helps.

I've just purchased a dogalter from Jollye's Pet Supplies. They're like a halti but have velcro so you can adjust them more and the velcro also stops it digging into the dogs muzzle. They come with a range of accessories,collars,leads etc So there's no fear of the dog slipping the halti as the Dogalter can be attached to the collar etc.
I think they're much better than halti's,they're also cheaper :)

Jollye's are a pet superstore in the North East, but there's definitely more than one store in the UK. If you ring them on 0191 2867589, I'm sure they'll be able to point you towards the nearest store to you or a Dogalter supplier/stockist. They're very good at ordering stuff in for you:)

...Or... You can order direct from George Grayson (Kumfi). See above for his website. :rolleyes: I have ordered collars and leads from him in the past and have been very happy with them. :) :)

I have my dogalter packet right here! The confusion is no where on the packet does it say "Kumfi", so they are not neccesarily the same thing.
Dogalter= made by HI-CRAFT, sandy road, Liverpool,L21 1AG tel (+44) 0151 928 2487

Quote jargon on packet: The DOGALTER has been designed to control dogs that pull.It is easy to fit and adjust and will be comfortable for your dog to wear whilst walking or training. The velcro adjustable straps ensure that the DOGALTER will fit your dog exactly. We strongly recommend that the DOGALTER is used in conjunction with a KOMBI collar or similar...etc etc

The poster enquired about Dogalter,hence the dogalter info. Could well be a Kumfi,but to clarify nowhere does it say Kumfi on the packaging so the Kumfi dogalter and the HI-CRAFT Dogalter may be slightly different.:)

Quote rumrat's original request:

"there was a iinternet site in champdogs as regards to dog training on various subjects.this was about a ex police dog handler who has set up bisiness on selling various training aids such as dog alter .can anyone give me his e mail adress or web site"

Answer:
Ex-Police Dog Handlers Website
George Grayson's E-mail Address

I hope that is not too confusing! ;)

But you already offered the link and the poster still enquired about Jollye's web site giving the impression the poster was interested in more product info etc You then :rolleyes: when I simply offer up the info requested??? I'm not at all confused, nor do I think the original poster is. There is nothing wrong with researching a product or a stockist. Rumrats post doesn't really state if he's interested in the dog trainer or the dogalter, but either way we have responded to both lines of enquiry. I also hope that clears the mist ;)

I've just read that back, ignore me if I sound stroppy I don't mean to :D I always take offence at :rolleyes: and I am the worst person on champdogs for typing before thinking....you'll have to make allowances for me!:D
