When you ring me for the first time why not say

"I'm ringing about the litter you have advertised"

a bit like dodgy second hand car dealers, you might catch a dodgy breeder out this way. As opposed to saying I'm ringing about the Ford Sierra you have advertised.

If they say which litter / car , alarm bells should start ringing.

Dear Puppy Buyer, don't just ring around until you find an available litter right now. Do your homework, contact some breeders, be prepared for a grilling, don't ask 'have you got any puppies, how much?' Meet breeders and their dogs in their home before a litter is even born. Join a breed specific FB group, ask questions, take all advice on board. Get yourself on some breeders waiting lists, be prepared to wait and perhaps travel, not expect a puppy to be available on your doorstep. Look around training classes while you wait. Realise that a good breeder is priceless!

Welcome to the forum ignoredbymany

What Kenny is "on about" (and what isn't that clear on first read through of their post), is a suggestion to would be puppy buyers.

If you say "I'm ringing about the litter you have advertised"

And the breeder responds: "which litter"

>you might catch a dodgy breeder out this way

>a bit like dodgy second hand car dealers, you might catch a dodgy breeder out this way. As opposed to saying I'm ringing about the Ford Sierra you have advertised.

In defence of Ignoredbymany

I thought Kenny's post was a bit ambiguous  . A question mark (?) after 'which litter' would have helped.

I get it now !
