Have a litter of week old pups. For a couple of days one has been really noisy. Sort of snorting/snuffling sounds. Vet has taken a look and nothing obvious. Feeding well, gaining weight, active etc. Chest is clear, no temp, no obvious signs of illness. Vet says he sounds throaty. hasn't given AB as no sign of any infection to warrant this. I have tried steaming room a little. Gained weight again today but still very noisy. Just spoke to Vet again who says just monitor him. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts. All other pups and Mum doing well. No sign of cleft palate, no milk coming down nose on feeding. I am topping him and some of the others up as its a big litter and some of her teats not so good as others. His only symptom is the noise he is making. Thanks

Thanks. Apart from the noise, not sure it ticks the boxes for the other symptoms though may be too early to make a diagnosis. Might be case of watch and see which way it goes.He is always looking for the teat and thriving so far.

I have a LC bitch that had exactly this problem. Turned out, eventually, to be everted laryngeal sacules.

Have sent you a PM Jean
I have had one litter where 2 of the puppies were noisy at about a week old, they seemed fine in every other way and no treatment prescribed, they just got better on their own in the following week, you are obviously on top of it so fingers crossed your puppy will be ok soon
