Just picked my dog up from the groomers to be told she's got fleas !!! I'm so embarrassed !
So I need to pick some treatment up from PaH as I go away in a couple of days.
What would people recommend as I've never needed it before, and I don't want her taking it to the people who are having her as they have their own dogs ?

Personally, I would prefer to have Frontline spray to treat the infestation. PAH will only have the spot on which in my opinion is only good for prophylactic use. The spray is only available from the vet as its a prescription only medication.

I wouldn't buy anything over.tje  counter get something from your vet.otc stuff isn't always a.safe as it could be. Spray the house and hoover hoover hoover .I would think just the one product is sufficient  you don't want to overdose your dog by accident. Speak to the vet. The fact that he has just been bathed will help .keep combing him through amd bath again in a few days

Johnson flea tablets do basically nothing, most of the OTC stuff is useless.  Frontline is useless in many places now too.  The spray was working for a while but now that has stopped working here too.

Advocate/Advantage/Advantix still work in many places (I use Advantage when mine catch them), as does Bravecto here.

I use advantage, advocate mostly but swapping in some frontline and fripoline occasionally. For the house I use indorex spray once a year.
What breed is your dog? Some breeds with the mdr1 gene like collies can have problems with the majority of stuff that contains ivermectin.

Don't feel bad, dogs pick these things up,could have come from a walk, dog event, a friend's dog or even at the groomers. I know of a groomer who takes her own dogs in while she works even when they were covered in fleas.

2 years ago my vet found a flea on one of my dogs while giving her the usual annual examination.  I could have died, I was mortified.  However, fortunately Frontline spray works for my lot so I used that and did every room in the house with Indorex spray - even down at the caravan.

The vet was quite emphatic about vacuuming every day.  I made sure that I got fluff from under everywhere as the eggs would be there as well.  Have to admit that I felt making sure I treated the house was the success more than treating the dogs.  Haven't seen another flea in 2 years since, and that's the reason I don't routinely treat the dogs.
