Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Warm coat that won't ruin dog's coat

So I have succumbed to madness and am joining a couple of friends, all with Cavaliers, on a ferry trip to a 2 day Cavalier double show in Belfast. I want to make sure my veteran girl doesn't get chilled on the ferry as she's never stayed in the car overnight. She will be snuggled in with 2 or 3 of the other dogs as she knows them and they all get on. I also have a fleecy coat that she wears on particularly cold walks or when at rally trials in the winter. However I've noticed that when she wears this coat, when I take it off, her coat looks sort of greasy and static-y at the same time, which obviously is going to affect how she looks at the show. Can anyone suggest a nice warm coat, possible even covering legs too as she gets stiff around the back end if she gets cold, that won't spoil her nice silky coat? Would washing the fleecy coat help? Or would she be warm enough snuggled in with the other dogs if we cover the crates?

Is it the equafleece you have ?, maybe the hurta coats with full legs are worth looking at ?

No, they're from Fedaye - absolutely love them for normal walks in the winter, but do need something that's not going to make her look grotty in the show ring after wearing for a few hours. Will try those other places, thanks.

Oh yes I've looked into those before as I have an American cocker too! Thanks. :-)

She just told me to fill in an order form, no help at all about what fabrics might be good for warmth without flattening the coat and making it look greasy. Jolly expensive too! Think I'll just wash the fleecy coats I already have and snuggle her in with the other dogs and cover the crate. :-p
