Bonkers. Your dog is hit by a car and you have to take him to one of 28 approved vets, which could be miles away - not ideal when time is critical. Then when you get him there you find there are loads of others waiting because they've all had to choose from the same 28 vets. How is that for the benefit of the poor dog?
I had heard something was in the pipeline but was told it was to do with specialist referral practices not general practice.this may need clarification therfore the type of incident u refer to wouldn't apply neither would say being away amd needing a general vet.also the daily mail are so good at giving emotive stories and not the full accurate picture
Yes it says in the article it's for specialist referrals. One of mine is with Tesco so will have to look into it, as I trust my vet to choose the best specialist for my dog, not an insurer.

Good point, I usually take that into account. I don't read the Mail for that reason, but it touched a nerve which I suppose is what they're aiming for. It also begs the question of HOW are those 28 vets selected?
