Does anyone on this forum use a purpose built dog van?  Small, just for 2 dogs, for example like the police use or rspca etc.  If you do where did you purchase it?  I've seen them on auction sites but I'm not keen.

My friend has got an ex-police dog van - Ford Focus, I can find out where she got it if you like.
It has the cages in but obviously all livery insignia, lights and aeriels etc have been removed.
There are 2 cages but she travels 4 working Border Collies in it OK

My mum got her ex council dog warden van off of the agilitynet flea market.

Do dogs in transport/transit have any rights as to how high or wide their pens should be in relation to the dog size or number of dogs in each pen? Is there any law for private transport?

Keep an eye on Autotrader: 'specialist vehicles'. Dog vans/cars do come up from time to time.

We had a 2 dog one a while ago but i really didn't like it, i didn't like how the dogs were in a 'box' so to speak and I couldn't see them or monitor if they were too hot/cold. I have a dog van too which was bought as a normal van and then caged and i much  prefer this, i can see the dogs through the mesh and know they have good air flow and ventilation.
