Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Show lead & collar

I have a horrible feeling I have managed to lose Ellie's show lead & collar, I am quite gutted as I've had it nearly her whole life. :-( I originally got them from Deva Dogware but I don't think they are around any more. I've put a post on the show society's page, but I would have walked her out to the car, and it's not in the car or the show bag or anywhere I can see in the house, so I have a horrible feeling I must have managed to drop it in the grass where I was parked.

Anyway, can people recommend a good place for a new one? I'm quite fussy and hate change haha. My old one was separate lead and collar, so for a start it will be a nightmare as nearly all the ones I ever see at shows are all in one. I like a fine chain collar (she's a Cavalier) as a coloured one, even black, breaks up her outline at the neck as she is black and white there. So I like the plain metal half check collar. For the lead I am not keen on the round cord ones that seem so popular now, I've shown my friend's dogs with them and they just don't feel as comfortable. I like a flat approx 4mm wide plain black lead, not stretchy (though I might be tempted into a bit of subtle bling). I don't know if anyone sells anything like this now, or if I will have to face the prospect of change!

Hmm, have found a collar that seems to be ok for fit. Have also discovered Deva exist by email and phone, just not for online shopping. So might be able to get a new black lead, though might still be a little tempted by one with a bit of subtle bling.....

I so know how you feel re 'equipment'.   For some reason I had my fav. show lead with me in my bag when we flew back to the UK from Canada.  To this day I don't know why I had it with me, but it was a mistake because on landing and emptying my luggage, I couldn't find it.   Whether it fell out on the flight home I don't know, but it just disappeared.   To my sorry because it was bought in Canada and there was no way I could do other than buy 'similar' back here.  That lead had so much 'history'.   I still regret losing it to this day.

Hopefully you'll find another one to suit

Thanks! But I've discovered the Deva people still exist by email, they just don't have an online service any more. So I will hopefully be able to get something pretty similar. :-)
