Ok I know that there really are very few reliable early pregnancy signs but still curious as to everyone's experiences.

My bitch didn't take last year, but I was convinced she had - physically there appeared to be some thickening of her loin and pinking up of teats, increased appetite, weight gain etc but no puppies come 30 days scan.

This year, she was mated 27th Feb so would only be potentially 16 days along. And additionally she was AI'd as the stud was an oldie and couldn't physically manage the deed. His sperm was less than desirable so in all honesty I have just assumed that she isn't pregnant. However in the last 2 days I've noticed she is incredibly grumpy with everyone (and every dog in our household, even ones she is very very close to) she is taking herself off and not quite as clingy as she normally is. Not noticed any appetite changes, if anything she seems a little off her food. She had a milky discharge on day 10 and day 11 and vulva still swollen, but it often stays that way for a few weeks anyways. Don't notice anything hugely different with her teats but her belly, area nearest her rear teats seems a little sparse in the hair department.

Has anyone ever experienced a bitch being super grumpy post mating? And what was the outcome?

Thanks :)

Had one bitch who could not be anywhere near other bitches from the day she had been mated until pups were a few weeks old. Going off food would always be the first sign for me.
