Hi everyone.. Yes, i have a male that lay down while is steel tie with a female, interrupting the process. When he do this, he scream with pain. Anyone knows why this is happening? Thank you

An old boy of ours used to lie down whilst tied, he never got in any pain from it though. Cooperative bitches could be eased down too. He would also sleep on the job too. Just a silly quirk of his, he was healthy in every way and stayed with us until the Grand old age of 14.

Yep I have known a friends dog do this (but not when he mated my bitch) and a dog I bred and mated to one of my girls  did the same, and interesting the two were paternal brothers.

In both cases no pain or drama as the bitches got down too.

The mating can't end until the tie breaks, which it won't do until it is ready.

A tie doesn't have to be very long.

We had a bitch that liked to lie down when tied, dog has to be eased down with her. 
Perhaps he doesn't like being tied to the bitch for long periods, it is down to her to release him though.

Sometimes males in my main breed will appear to go to sleep in the tie, lying across her back but not 'turned'.  I've never had one actually lie down.   Ouch!   If there's pain involved when he does this, you may have to prop him up during the tie, so he can't.    If you saw a mating in my breed, you'd know how much 'propping up', usually the bitch, with him on top - double ouch for the handler - has to be done.   If we weren't there to assist, I do believe the breed could die out!   We did have one who did his own thing - he hated anybody to interfere!!   He was rare!

How would there be a premature release?   Once tied, they are tied in the fullest sense of the word, and to be released before the dog has 'gone down' would certainly involve pain, and potentially injury to either or both.

The first time, he try to lay down and i hold him, so he couldn't and the tie last about 15 minuts. The second time I didn't hold him and after he lay down they scream with pain and release. The tie in this case it last 5 min.

I've supervised many matings and I've never allowed dog or bitch to lie down.  If I'm supervising then they do what I want.  I hold them up, I don't want my stud boy damaged.

My girl that had puppies last year and the stud dog both wanted to lie down, once they'd been tied for about 5 minutes. We ended up with them tied and snuggled on my lap!!
